Altoona letter of support

Hello everyone! This is the unofficial version of the letter of support from Altoona. I can’t wait to post the pdf of the signed official version.

The City of Altoona is proud to announce its support for the StereoType music venue project. It is our intent to give assistance and utilize any available resources to ensure that this project will be built in our community. StereoType’s success will greatly expand upon the three million visitors that visit Altoona yearly. It will also create high quality jobs and significant economic stimulus to our entertainment district.

StereoType’s one-of-a-kind music venue combined with Altoona’s national attractions, Adventurelands of America, Prairie Meadows, and Bass Pro Shop at the Shoppes at Prairie Crossing, will greatly aid in solidifying the city as the entertainment hub of Iowa’s future. We are in agreement with StereoType, that Iowa needs more affordable high quality entertainment. After reviewing their business plan and model, we feel they are more than capable of providing the Midwest with just that.

Should the media, or any potential investor/partner of StereoType, require any further information regarding our support and commitment to this project, please feel free to contact Jeff Mark, City Administrator, at (515) 967-5136.

(See this is why we love Altoona!!!)

Altoona support

Hello everyone!
We have been working with the city of Altoona to compose a letter of support for the StereoType project which will be finalized very soon. Altoona is interested in having a venue like ours in their community. We are proud, as well as grateful, to accept this support from a community that actually understands that entertainment does create noise and traffic. More importantly they are willing to work with us on these issues in order to fit into their community. This single point clearly separates Altoona from all other communities in the state that say they want entertainment but blatantly and intentionally inhibit it.

Altoona has a long history of providing the state/Midwest with high quality entertainment namely Adventureland, and Prairie Meadows. They have had the forethought to plan the layout of the city separating the residential from commercial. They have even assisted in the creation of the Shoppes at Prairie Crossing district located just south of the Bass Pro Shop (more on this development to come). This mall area has the potential to rival Des Moines Court Ave. district as they have more area, more parking, more commercial spaces, and most importantly easier access. No more hazardous traffic jams at 2am leaving the parking garages downtown! Plus Altoona is physically located between Ames and WDM making it accessible to a wider range of potential customers.

With all this being said we will be posting the full verbiage of the letter as soon as we get it back from the city. We will post a PDF of the official letter signed by the entire city council, city government, and other representatives from the local as well as state governments early next week. Due to the holidays not every necessary representative is accessible at this time of year. Personally it’s the holidays and we at StereoType have been working to the bone, bleeding for this project so we too deserve a rest in there somewhere. Good night and have a happy Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza/ and festivus for the rest of us. (Seinfeld… hello!)

Once again DM makes a top city list

Why is it that DM makes another top city list yet we still can’t get major touring artists to play here. We have more artists using our hotels than our venues. Quite sad!

I hate to say it but this article is correct. Artists choose to put their music on sites like this as a last resort over piracy. Get a dime lose a dollar. In the words of the Napster haters Metallica, sad but true.
