Clearly defined limitations

We have to clearly define our limitations. There are four business activities we will not focus on: exclusive ticket sales, lease our franchises’ services outside of Central Iowa, become a major distributor, or manage artists.

Let’s face it Ticketmaster™ are bullies; but they are a necessary evil. If we sign exclusive contracts with them we ostracize all other ticket vendors. If we do not sign some kind of agreement we lose out on their large and well established consumer base, and LiveNation entertainment. We also lose out on their massive server centers designed to handle hundreds of thousands of simultaneous monetary transactions. However smaller ticket companies could better handle the flexibility of our immediate needs. We strive to find the middle ground between ticket vendors. Ultimately it comes down to the parties involved per event and what they desire.

When we are not utilizing an asset we own ourselves, we will rent it out. Our high end resources will greatly benefit our local market. With that being said, should a client wish to lease our services in another state, and provide transportation expenses, we would not turn down the revenue.

We only desire to distribute products we create at our own franchises. There are already enough licensing and other legal hassles to deal with in the products we create, we don’t need any more.

As for managing artists, NO, Nope, Nada, Never… We have to deal with them at the events. Have you ever seen the chaos behind the stage before? It is nuts on its own! Have you ever seen Joey Jordison’s Murderdoll videos of “mad manager” on YouTube? This will show you the abuse that their managers face. Joey, God love ya, but I will slowly drop the gallon bottle of Bacardi in front of you and back away; and watch the party start (we have good insurance).

Our sole purpose is to monetize the content in favor of their creators.

How our business model works

Hello Music Lovers,

StereoType is a brand new bad-ass music venue concept that not only satisfies the artists’ financial needs, but the consumers’ wallets as well. We simply combine several small businesses that find it hard to make a profit on their own into one. Under our ownership we have all of the audio, lighting, recording, venue spaces, and distribution required, as well as all necessary employees.

Separately these businesses demand higher fees for their resources. These expenses get passed on to the promoter who has to include them in the ticket price. A higher ticket price is a major deterrent for consumers.

StereoType, by efficiently utilizing all of our available resources, simply does three things very well. One, we act as a normal venue by renting/leasing any combination of our resources, physical or otherwise. This method yields us barely break even revenue just like other venues.

Two, we sell the audio and video recordings (mastered or raw) outright to the artists. This yields a significantly greater amount of revenue. Sure we could exist and make a decent profit by doing this, but we would not be living up to our full potential.

Or three, we utilize our resources and partner with the artists to create entire product lines out of our events (digital and physical) This generates revenue for decades for all interested parties. This third option allows us to look at the artists’ popularity, what products we create, and what special guests they want to invite, to determine our one-off events.

Now we may not have the physical land space to host a Woodstock; but what about a digital Woodstock? What about hosting an event online and charge the same as they do for pay-per-view events in Las Vegas? Why has no one done this before? Well there is a lot of red tape and B.S. that goes along with it that’s why.

This is where StereoType comes into play. We deal with this B.S. straight forward always ensuring the artists’ (and interested parties) get their fair share. WE WILL NEVER FORGET that without them we have no products, therefore we have no profits.

We are willing to spend the money to make these one-off events happen. Our only limitations are those placed upon us by the artists’ themselves. If there is a price to be paid, and a profit to be made, we will pay it! Bands/Labels/Promoters want two things money and exposure. We offer both, and a profit sharing percentage that NO competing venue (or distributor) currently in existence can compete with.

This means major events; even multiple-night-runs with special guests every night. When was the last time that you heard of a band playing a multiple night run in Iowa? Our profit potential is limitless, if recording is the answer.

At StereoType are proud Iowan’s, therefore we have designed our first franchise to meet Central Iowa’s entertainment needs. The business model of StereoType is a shot in the arm to the socio-economic health of Central Iowa. Affordable entertainment is the key to eliminating the brain drain phenomena that has plagued Iowa for decades. The question has always been how do we accomplish this? The answer is StereoType.

Meetings have gone great this week

Everything has gone smoothly this week. If everything stays on our time line we will be releasing our business plan the week of Sept 27th. That is provided our rock star partner and our world class sound tech sign off on everything. Keep checking back!

Lawyers, investors, and accountants… oh my!

Holy crap! Opening a business is not easy… but very rewarding. Just one or two more meetings to go with the lawyer and we will post our full un-edited business plan on this site under our “About Us” page. We will need your help once we do. We are a start-up business with a VERY large initial capital requirement to get going. So the more you help us by suggesting our website and social profiles (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, ETC), the more exposure we get, and the more likely we will be able to build this here in Iowa.

The way it sits right now the venture capitalists we have spoken to have suggested we build in another city. Well I am a proud Iowan and have designed our first franchise exclusively to meet Central Iowa’s entertainment needs. The louder you are Iowa the more likely we build our first one here. Only you can make this happen! Thank you all.
